Danville is governed by nine council members, elected at large for four-year staggered terms. The City Council appoints a City Manager, a City Attorney, a City Clerk, and various boards and commissions.  Members of City Council elect a Mayor and Vice Mayor.  The City Manager, chief administrator of the City’s affairs, handles municipal business.

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY

Pittsylvania County is managed by a County Administrator who reports to a seven-member Board of Supervisors who are elected by districts for four-year terms.  The Board of Supervisors appoints various boards and commissions.  Members of the Board of Supervisors elect a Chairman and Vice Chairman.

THE TOWN OF CHATHAM

The Town of Chatham is managed by an elected mayor and a six-member Town Council with the support of a Public Works Director.  Council members are elected at large for four-year terms.

THE TOWN OF HURT
